A wedding lasts a day. What we remember from it changes with time.
I’ve always believed that photographs belong to more than one generation. I think about the people who will one day turn to these images to see where they came from - who will recognise their own smile in yours, or discover a side of someone they thought they knew. A wedding brings so many lives into one place. I photograph it with a sense of what these pictures may come to mean, as the years give us new reasons to return to them.
Getting to know you changes what I see. I notice your humour, how you move towards one another, the small expressions someone who loves you would recognise. I’m there with you, listening and observing, giving you space to settle into being yourselves. That connection shapes the photographs I make. I want you to recognise yourself in them, and to find the people you love as you remember them: their warmth, their gestures, their way of being in the world.

We don't usually enjoy having our photos taken so we were both a little apprehensive about this part of the day but we enjoyed every second.
